The Cornish Bottle Archive (founded in 2023) was established to document all known, found and collected Cornish bottles dating up to 1939, to share with the community via this website. This is an ambitious three year project and will culminate in a 50 year anniversary exhibition in 2026 (location tbc). The last major bottle exhibition in Cornwall was hosted in Truro in 1976.
This project has been piloted with The Redruth Brewery Community Exhibition which showcases a selection of bottles from Redruth Brewery at Kresen Kernow (until 29th June), all of which have been kindly loaned by private collectors. The archive team welcome all members of the community to come and visit the display, and share any memories, objects or material that relate to Redruth’s bottle heritage dating up to 1939. This includes glass bottles, stoneware, pot lids, medicine bottles, flagons, etc. In addition, workshops will be offered to local schools and community groups.

All bottles relating to Redruth will be photographed and featured on this website from 1st July 2024. To contact The Cornish Bottle Archive Team please email info@thecornishbottlearchive.com

The Cornish Bottle Archive would like to thank all the private collectors, local community, FEAST and Kresen Kernow who have made this project possible.
This exhibition is dedicated to Roger Eslick, who sadly passed away in 2023. He was a dedicated Redruth bottle collector and always supported the idea of sharing our local history with the community.
